There is a particular kind of magic that settles over Somerset in early September. The light softens. The air carries the first hint of autumn. And the land, after months of generous giving, offers up its final, abundant gifts before the turning of the season. It is this moment that Merlin Labron-Johnson and his team have chosen to celebrate with their final summer events of 2026.
On 12th and 13th September, Pharmacy Field Kitchen will return to Coombe Farm, one of two farms that supplies Osip and The Pharmacy, for two afternoons of seasonal, live-fire dining. The serene setting, carefully tended by the team, makes for the perfect backdrop to enjoy all the farm has to offer at the height of the late-summer season. The menu will celebrate the abundant produce harvested from the farm, alongside lamb, which is at its best as summer gives way to early autumn. A three-course menu will be cooked over coals and enjoyed in a secluded corner of the farm, overlooking the Somerset landscape.
Guests will arrive from 2pm, welcomed with a Kir Royale and seasonal canapés amongst the growing beds, before heading on a tour of the farm. From 2.30pm, they will sit down for a long, leisurely lunch. The menu includes yellow courgette soup with ricotta, melon and Thai basil, alongside bread and oil, followed by lamb with petit farcies, tomatoes stuffed with lamb, and a light lamb jus, served with yoghurt, cucumber and mint and salads of the day. To finish, ricotta cannoli with macerated blackberries and bay leaf oil. Red and white wine will be served for the table throughout the meal.
Hosted as part of The Pharmacy Field Kitchen events programme, the afternoon brings seasonal cooking to life through hyper-local produce, open-fire cooking, and relaxed outdoor dining in the Somerset countryside.
Further events are on the horizon, including lunch at The Big Brue, a new Bruton festival bringing together curious minds from the town on 19 and 20 September, followed by an apple harvest dinner hosted at Hadspen Valley orchard in late September.
Pharmacy Field Kitchen is a new catering endeavour from Labron-Johnson and head chefs Marc Ackland and Zsuzsanna Toth of The Pharmacy, seeking to unite seasonal dining, joyful design, and heartfelt hospitality, shaped by a deep connection to the outdoors. An extension of The Pharmacy and Osip's ethos, the food and offerings are driven by their farms' produce, celebrating mindful horticulture, home-grown vegetables, and the landscape surrounding Somerset. Through food and art direction, the team combines their unique backgrounds and shared vision for a distinctive approach to event production. Alongside catering for private gatherings, brand launches, vernissages and weddings, Pharmacy Field Kitchen also hosts events and collaborations at Osip and The Pharmacy's farms and other locations.
Priced at £95 per guest, the afternoon begins at 2pm until approximately 5pm and includes a welcome Kir Royale, canapés, farm tour, three-course meal and wine for the table. Tickets are available for 12th September and 13th September.
It is the kind of event that reminds you why dining al fresco, in the company of good food and good people, remains one of life's great pleasures. And as summer gives way to autumn, there is no better place to be than in a secluded corner of a Somerset farm, watching the light fade over the landscape, with a plate of something wonderful in front of you.
Tickets can be purchased HERE for the 12th and HERE for the 13th.
